“Inclusive Playgrounds:  Designing Inclusive Communities”

Play and recreation are critical parts of child and community development and designing outdoor spaces that enrich and engage everyone is key to the successful use of space. Learning about the benefits of play, outdoor recreation and community greenspaces and applying the Principles of Universal Design, we will discuss how play lays the groundwork for development, the difference between meeting requirements and inclusion and how elevating the voices of all people, especially those we don’t always hear, can create the places our communities need.
